Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is a 1952 Hindi epic film directed by Guru Dutt, which was later remade in 1975 starring Amitabh Bachchan. It depicts the journey of a young couple across Rajasthan during British rule. The movie tells the story of an old amorous rajkumar, who has lost his lustre due to age and infidelity by his wives, who has wooed Chunni Bai, an amorous woman from the town. However, they are caught in adultery by his wife-to-be and he is banished before being married to her. Outcasted from his own town, he leaves for the wilds of the rural Rajasthan. Here, he encounters various difficulties including a village girl, who is in love with him and also a woman posing as his wife. In the climax Kuno Bihari, a "jogi" (fakir), shows up to help the old man regain his lost honour and village back.Amitabh Bachchan won Filmfare Best Male Newcomer Award for his role in the 1975 version.

The film received an average response from critics upon its release. The "Daily News and Analysis" gave it four out of five stars and stated that Guru Dutt had "delivered yet another blockbuster".

The film has been preserved in the National Film Archives of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, New Delhi.

The music for this film was composed by Ram Ramlal, who also wrote the lyrics for the songs. The singers were Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Shamshad Begum and Uma Devi. The song "Hariye Jaisi" sung by Mohammed Rafi is highly popular among classical music lovers.
